Steve Reich ist eine lebende Legende.

als einer der originellsten musikalischen Denker unserer Zeit.
Am 03.10.2026 feiert er seinen 90. Geburtstag.
Aus diesem Anlaß realisiert das STUDIO PERCUSSION graz ein außergewöhnliches Kulturprojekt in Graz.
Innerhalb von 24 Stunden, 25 Locations und 27 Programmpunkten werden Werke von Steve Reich in unterschiedlichen thematischen Kontexten an ausgewählten Orten im gesamten Stadtgebiet aufgeführt. Rund 90 Musiker*innen sowie ein Extremsportler gestalten dieses einzigartige Ereignis, das bewusst den klassischen Konzertsaal verlässt und die Stadt selbst zur Bühne macht.
Mit „GRAZ spielt STEVE REICH“ entsteht ein kulturelles Großereignis, das musikalische Exzellenz, urbane Räume und innovative Aufführungsformate miteinander verbindet – und damit weit über die Grenzen eines traditionellen Konzertformats hinausweist.

On this occasion, STUDIO PERCUSSION graz is realizing an extraordinary cultural project in Graz.
Within 24 hours, 25 locations and 27 program items, works by Steve Reich will be performed in different thematic contexts at selected locations throughout the city. Around 90 musicians and an extreme athlete create this unique event, which deliberately leaves the classical concert hall and turns the city itself into a stage.
„GRAZ plays STEVE REICH“ is a major cultural event that combines musical excellence, urban spaces and innovative performance formats – and thus points far beyond the boundaries of a traditional concert format.
